Week 79

Okay really now this is it! haha I fly home tomorrow!!!
Crazy. I am excited though that it is Easter Week,
A good time to remember the Savior and that He Lives! Today, with flesh and bones, because He overcame it all and was Resurrected.
I love this idea that because of Him, We can Live again too! This life is just a part of our journey there is so much more out there!
I love it!
I will follow him!
Much Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 69

Hola!
This week oh my has been crazy.
So much opposition therefore I have looked to the Lord.
This work is amazing, mostly because of all that the adversary tries to throw at it and it still lives and thrives on.
I have felt much opposition this week, a lot!
The weight of not being perfect is heavy.
I think all missionaries feel this at some point or another, that you just aren't cutting it.
BUT this is the adversary speaking, he is the only one trying to discourage us, the only one trying to weigh us down so that we turn away from this great work.
I have prayed a lot! Mostly for understanding and strength to keep pushing through.
Of course I have weaknesses that need improving we all do! But thats why the Lord has chosen us to do His work. He chooses the weak and simple to fulfill his purpose because it makes Us better!
He cares for all of us and through all our trials it shapes us to be more like Him.
Christ went through all that we go through, He knows and understands.
He is there to bear our burdens, to lift us, because He overcame.
I love this, it took me ages to figure this out. But the Lord truly cares. He lives!
I know He is involved in this world amongst the chaos. He is here being our light.
We just got to follow Him.
I hope you all have the best week. :)
I send my love,
Sister Libbey

Week 67

Its crazy how time flies!!
Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. We had lots of fun and I loved talking to my family :)
So now its time for the new year. Make more changes and progress!
I am excited for a fresh start and a fresh view on the year. Its going to be great :)

One thing that really stuck to me this season is the importance of all that Christ did. We wouldn't celebrate Christmas if it weren't for Easter. If He hadn't gone through with the Atonement we wouldn't celebrate His birth into this world.
I love Jesus Christ. He came so humbly and took on all the trials of the world. He overcame it all.
It's so hard to comprehend all that He went through. But I know He did. I know He knows exacly how we feel through every trial. He loves each of us and that is why He came.

I hope we can strive this year to be even more like Him in all that we do.
I love you all!!
Happy New Year!
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 66

Hey! Oh My Goodness it's Christmas like this week!!!
I am so excited. We have been caroling all week! And its so fun, and brings such a great spirit. We are softening hearts and finding the elect.

So I have learned I have the most joy just teaching and studying the simple truths of the gospel. Especially the Plan of Salvation. God prepared this plan from the foundation of the world. He knows everything and knows our hearts and desires, He knows what will come out of all our decisions. He just hopes we will follow him so we can return with the most joy.
In Alma chapter 12 I read today the plan of redemption.
"32 Therefore God gave unto them commandments, after having made known unto them the plan of redemption,.."
He tells us the goals he has and the blessings then gives us the things we need to do to fulfill them.
God cares so much, and He gave us Jesus Christ so that we can have an example to follow. He sent the Savior to redeem and heal us. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and I love this time to think of Him and his humble birth. He has gone below us all and has overcome everything! :)

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas!!

Week 64

Hello!!
I am so excited for Christmas, this whole month is just my favorite as a missionary. Everyday we get to talk about Christ!!! And people accept us!
A Savior is Born, and I love it. christmas.mormon.org watch BOTH videos on this site, they are amazing.

So I loved the Christmas Devotional that was given last night by the First Presidency. I loved the message of Hope, Peace and Love that the Savior brings.
I truely know and love that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to bring this to us, HOPE, and PEACE
and LOVE.
He loves us and Christ came into the world to Atone for us, to help us and guide us.
He just asks that we Remember Him, Love Him and Follow Him.
Christ was born into this world and He gave us so much! I love Him.
and I hope you all can love and cherish this season to Remember Him as well!!!

Watch those videos and tell me what you think!
MUCH MUCH LOVE,

Week 56

Hello!
Oh my this week was great.
We did a lot of service, and had Zone Conference and got to learn and grow with other missionaries. Also this week was just so great because we had fun together. I am just so happy.

Something I keep being reminded of is how not so happy I was in high school. I really just hid from the world and slept forever and just watched movies to just get away. I hasn't too happy. I had insomnia and I find now that the gospel has made a huge difference. Of course becoming curious and trying to be active my senior didn't have immediate results, but slowly over time, all those issues went away. I had energy and purpose. And now I am just over joyed with all the blessings the Lord has given me.
I still have ups and down in happiness each day but even my worse is better than my highs in high school.
Just as the Lord says,
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteous. -Isaiah 41:10
And my favorite,
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. -St. John 14:27

I know that Christ and his Gospel can heal. I know by keeping all that the Lord has commanded we can become as Him. I know He can make all things right as they should. And most of all I know He can give us JOY.
I love our Savior, I love our Father in Heaven who has created this plan.
And I love his Gospel which is provided to guide us.
I hope you all can find this as well.
Be Happy!
Love you all TONS!

Week 53

Well This last week was great, we were super obedient and saw crazy miracles, found some great people!!!

Something I want to talk about is about who we really are!
We are children of God, our spirits have a direct line to God as our Father.
His plan is for us to become as He is, and to grow and progress to be an heir to His throne.
Before you think I am nuts,  read this https://speeches.byu.edu/talks/tad-r-callister_our-identity-and-our-destiny/

This and the Spirit have taught me of this great truth. That we are all literal CHILDREN OF GOD!
You are a Son or Daughter of our loving Heavenly Father, as you live the commandments he has provided and just follow our brother Jesus Christ, you too can inherit all that the Father has.
I love this, it just reminds me of all the things I can do to become Him.
Every choice we make either lifts us or tears us down. But all good choices helps us become closer to being as He is.

I hope you read this talk prayfully and feel as inspired as I have felt.
I love you all!!! Choose the Right!
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 50

Hey Everyone!
Well the week went fast and here I am again.
It's been good here up by the mountains, the work of the Lord is going and there is plenty to do!
I love it here and I love the people. So many great interesting folks to know and gain knowledge from.
I was trying to think of what the share and the only thing that comes to mind is the infinite power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Christ, He went below us all, meaning He has been in all our worst situations and knows exactly the things we go through. He can personally say to us, "It's going to be okay, I know exactly how you feel"
I know this is true, Christ has felt everything we will ever go through and can be there for us. To comfort and support us.
Go to Him! Turn to Christ in all your situations, He can help you.

I Love You All!

Week 48

AHHH! Crazy News. My Area is getting 2 new missionaries and I, Sister Libbey am going somewhere else!
So Sister Morco and I are both departing from the Manzano Branch, and have been saying our goodbyes, we leave early tomorrow morning.

In other great news Jon, who we have been teaching since early May, is now a member of Gods Kingdom :)
Something I think I overall learned here in this area is NEVER GIVE UP.
Don't just stop and don't give up on anyone. Be there and just try at everything and miracles will happen. The Lord is most definitely in all aspects of the work. He finds and puts people in our path for us. He nags us with his spirit to go see people that need a visit and the word of God.
Jesus Christ NEVER gave up on us, and will never give up. He loves us and sacrificed himself just for us. He makes everything right. He makes everything possible.
Just look to him I promise he will help and heal you! He healed me!
I love you all!
See you next week!
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 44

Hi! This week I learned a lot.
It has been fun. Some things that have been talked about lately or at least of what is on the forefront of my mind is about the Atonement really.
About His Grace.
We all have weaknesses and we all need the grace of God.
But to receive all that strength and enabling power to overcome these weaknesses we have to be Sincere and Act, to show the faith we have in Him.
Faith is an action word and after praying with sincere diligence for help,
we then much Act in accordance with what we have said we need help in.
So we need courage to take the first steps and God carried us the rest of the way.
And this is where I feel I am at. Just mustering the courage to act and improve myself, so that God can then shape me.
This all reminds me of the scripture of the month we are focusing on in the mission.
Enos 1:12  Book of Mormon
"And it came to pass that after I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto m: I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith."

I love this because that's a promise that our Faith will help and get us where God and we want to me :)

I love you all and I hope you week was great!

Sister Libbey

Week 40

IT'S HOT! Hello Everyone, it is hot in New Mexico and I love it!
Can you believe it is June, July is like just around the corner!
Well It's been great.
Today I studied a lot about the covenants God has made with His children and with us.
There are so many blessings in return for the obedience to His commandments He has given us.
I just find it so beautiful and amazing all the things God has provided us with. We have so many chances and opportunities to receive every blessing He desires for us. It is never too late. Never too hard. Everything is possible with the Lords Atoning Sacrifice. We can use His strength whenever and where ever. At all times.
I love all these promises God has given us. And I am so grateful for those covenants.

I love you all!! Follow Christ

Week 39

Happy almost Father's Day! to all you dads and grandpas out there. Maybe you future fathers too.
New Mexico is doing great, as well as I. So apparently I am at my half way mark, or was 3 weeks ago...I don't know. But I just hope time slows down a little. That would be great.

So lately we have been focusing a lot on our teaching skills and refining them and I just love it. We teach simply, just as the Savior did and ask questions and listen. Meet the needs of those we teach and especially listen to the Spirit of course.
The work of the Lord is just so amazing.
I know that Heavenly Father just loves everyone, all His children. He cares and wants you all to know who you really are. And who you can become.
I am so grateful for his tender love, as well as my own Father here on earth. I am so grateful for all the care and love I have received from him.
Love you Dad!

And hope you all have a great weekend with your Dads, and loved ones.
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 37

Hey Everyone!
So this week was great. We went down to the furthest south of our area, an hour away in Socorro! We have some great members there and met some amazing people that were ready to hear the message of the restoration. We are all truly prepared to know the truth of all things. And of course we learn the truth of all things by the Spirit.
The Holy Ghost, The Holy Spirit, this personage of spirit is what testify of God and of Christ.
I know that the Spirit is what converts and what really teaches us who we are and what we need to do to be happy.
The Spirit is what got me here today. I know without a doubt that God really is there, that Christ lives. And I know that the Atonement can really heal everything all we have to do is accept it.

I know that we all can come to know of truth through prayer and scriptures and the Spirit is what's going to tell you it is true!

I love you all, I hope you have a great week!!!
It's summer!
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 36

Well Transfers have come and gone, and Sister Morco and I are still here!!!
Exciting to be with a companion for more than one transfer this time!

Miracles happen! Thats all I am going to say...
just kidding so yes miracles do happen, so lets call him JW.
So JW has been through a lot, making leaps and bounds to overcome addictions and to get back to the Lord.
The Gospel can change everything. Especially the Restored Full Gospel. JW is after only 3 months of being clean and 1 month of meeting with us is now overcoming all his challenges and is soooo much happier.
The Gospel brings joy and especially FREEDOM. The Lord and His Atonement can make all things possibly, even to be someone you never thought you would ever be. You can become who the Lord intended you to be with the help of Him!

I love this work, and especially the Lords Restored Gospel.
Hope everyone is having a great spring day and don't forget the one who provided it!

Week 29

Hey!! Hope Your Easter was great, Remember all we have Because of Christ!
Oh my, and conference was so great!
So I just love that we get to hear from the Prophet of God, and all his chosen servants.
All 4 sessions were amazing, if you haven't watched them yet, watch it!
https://www.lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2015/04?cid=HP_SU_4-5-2015_dPTH_fGC_xLIDyL1-B_&lang=eng
So out of all the sessions, I really loved the Sunday morning one. With some of the General Authorities that came and visited my mission. Hollands talk was so amazing, about how we can't celebrate Christmas and Easter without the ecknowledgement of the Fall of Adam and Eve.
Them becoming mortal was part of God's plan, and allows us to be here on Earth now.
I am grateful for the Fall to be here to experience and learn and grow.
We have a body of flesh and bone. We have the chance to experience things that help us to become like our Father in Heaven. Thats the whole point to become like Him, who created us.
None of that would be possible if we didn't have Jesus Christ. He overcame the Fall, we can be spiritually reborn, as well as Resurrected because He Lives, and went before us.
Because He Lives....We can have Eternal Life.
I love you all, and I hope you know and understand this, the Love God and Christ has for all of us.
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 28

Hey Everyone!
Watch This!  http://www.mormon.org/easter
So this week was Zone Conference in the mission, when all us missionaries gather together to talk and learn from the mission leadership and President Miller.

This conference we focused on the Spirit.
What the Holy Ghost is. How we can prepare to listen to it. How we can follow all it's subtle promptings.
The Holy Ghost, The Holy Spirit, The Still Small Voice.
He is the 3rd member of the GodHead. Without Him, We wouldn't learn and grow. And know for a surety that Jesus is the Christ.
The Spirit is neccessary to help us, and guide us, but especially to confirm the testimony of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
By the Spirit, our questions of "If God is really there?" or "Is Jesus Christ my Savior?" can all be answered.
So we all feel the Spirit differently, either a warm feeling in our hearts, a feeling of happiness and satisfaction, a thought that comes to mind you didn't think of yourself, a feeling of comfort and confirmation, a still small voice.
How do you feel the Spirit?
and have you ever gotten an answer like that for those questions.
If not, I invite you to Pray, ask God if He is there, ask Him if Jesus Christ did die for you.
I promise you will get an answer, just Listen.
I know "..by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things" Moroni 10:5.
I Know Christ Lives! I Know He is a glorified Being now, helping us to Follow His Example and be as He is.
I love the Holy Ghost, His daily guidance, He is what make this work, the Lords work.
Following the Spirit, I follow the will of God.
I Know Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that He lives!
Because He Lives....
We have the Restored Gospel, He and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith to establish His church once again on the earth.
...I can have Eternal Life with my Family.
...I can be clean, and forgiven for my sins.
I know all of this because of the confirmation of the Spirit,
So I hope you all partake of my invitation. Just ask God.
Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 27

Hello Everyone!
Seriously the weeks just keep passing by so fast.
I hope it slows down!

This week, I went to a Mission Leadership Council.
We had a guest speaker, Elder Lynn G. Robbins from the Presidency of the 70.
He talked to us like a Gospel Principles Class which was really nice, very interactive.
He talked about Agency, and how making choices means Responsibility too. Being Responsible is a good thing. We get joy out of the good choices we make but of course with bad choices, many deny being responsible for the bad consequences that come.  So we talked about being responsible whether whatever faults came were because of us or not.
Being personally responsible is an attitude of a champion, and ultimately is Christ-like.
So question, are you taking full responsibility?

I can promise that being responsible for consequences leads to better days.
I took responsibility for all my bad choices, and repented/changed, which gave the most joy I have ever felt. Being responsible has made me a better person, and has brought me to the knowledge of the most joy I could ever had.

All things are better with the Atonement of Christ, and we always have a chance to become better through Him. All our pass mistakes, and I mean ALL mistakes can be wiped away through Him. We can be healed and perfect in Him.
I love my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Week 25

AHHH! Okay now this week was actually crazy. Sister Haywood is officially home in Washington.
And I got transfered! I am now just south of where I was, in the Los Lunas Stake. I am in a YSA branch! Which means with Young Single Adults ages 18 to 30. So over this huge area, a lot of south Albuquerque, down to Socorro.
I also have an amazing companion, who sadly is going home after this transfer. Sister Van Wagoner from Logan Utah. She is an amazing missionary and knows way more than I do. I have a lot to learn.
Side-note I just hit my 6 months mark, so for those missing me. I am a third of the way almost home.

But I love it out here, in the beautiful desert. And the people, oh man, I love them all. They are all childern of God, including you. And they all have spirits just trying to return to their Father in Heaven.
This truly is the Lords Work I am doing here. Gathering the Children of God. He is in everything I do every day! Especially here with the next generation of people in this world. The Lord wants them all, all of them to be blessed with the gospel. They almost fall out of the sky prepared to learn and live the teachings of Christ.

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I feel so blessed to have that as a guide. The gospel is what brings us home, all we have to do is live it. Christ being the example, all he says is Come Follow Me and you will return to me and our Father. Only through Christ can we return Home.
I know it and I love Him for it.
My only invitation is
COME and SEE!
Come see for yourself. Tell me if you aren't blessed for living the gospel.
I love you all and I hope for all of you  to return to your Father in Heaven.
Much Love,
Sister Libbey

The Gospel:
1 Have Faith in Christ and His Atonement.
2 Repent or Change to be Better.
3 Be Baptised.
4 Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 Live the gospel forever :)

Week 23

This week was amazing!
First off, we had a Zone Conference so all the missionaries in the mission gather together and we had some really amazing people come talk to us.
Elder Villarreal (our area 70) , Bishop Casusse (General Bishop), Elder Craig C. Christensen (President of the Quorum of the 70), and Elder Holland! (of the 12 apostles)

So an amazing meeting with inspired servants of the Lord.
A lot talked about was how changing and repenting and using the Atonement really brings us closer to Christ and how we all need it, not just our investigators. We should all experience these principles for ourselves.

Something that Elder Holland talked about was how this time, right now, is the only time missionary work is successful, and it was deemed long ago that this would be the time the gospel would be shared with the world, and would stick...
"...having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and tongue, and people," Revelations 14:6
All the bible and book of mormon times there were missionaries but they were hardly successful, and this right now being the time it will be successful is also why there is so much opposition in the world.
I am so grateful I was able to meet and shake hands with an apostle, and special witness of Christ.
I hope you all look for truth, and stick with it, and especially don't forget to share it with everyone you know because it will stick, it will bless the people of today. And prepare us all for the second coming of Christ.

The gospel has brought so much joy into my life, I have eternal truths that help and guide me. I know there is a life after this and I am just here to learn and grow. I am so grateful to have an eternal perspective, to know the truth of where I am going and how I got here.
I love the gospel and I love my Savior.
I hope you all can enjoy the joy of eternal truths.
Much Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 22

Hey Hope Valentines Day was good!
This week was great.
I have been bothered to share experiences I have been having as a missionary so
Something cool that I have experiences is while finding people to teach.
Of course many people don't want to hear what we have to say, and are just comfortable with what they got. But of course we as missionaries keep seeking for those that are prepared to hear the restored gospel, those who have a desire to grow closer to their Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ.

There was a nice day that we decided to go contacting so walk the streets in a neighborhood and just talk to anyone that is outside. We prayed before to be guided to know what streets to walk down and what to say to each individual.
We walked and a nice young woman actually stopped and talked to us. She knew mormons and grow up going to many church dances as well. She wanted to learn more and now she is taking the lessons and really feeling the spirit.

So all I have to mention is that every interaction we have with people can leave a great impact.
It can of course affect them in the present but it can always leave an influence for later.
So always be a good example and always invite people.
Much Love,
Sister Libbey
