Week 15

Hello. I hope everyones Christmas was great!
Mine was so great and I just love this work.
Sister Garate and I have been working hard, and have been trying to stay diligent.
It is cool to see the Lord sees our efforts and really helps in the work.
We found a family we are now teaching and things here in West Albuquerque are just great.
It may snow here which would be so fun since I haven't really seen snow since I was 6.

So I thought today I would just share a scripture I came across that kind of sums up this season I think.
Alma 11:40 in the Book of Mormon
"And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else."

The sins that Christ atoned for will only be taken away if you believe in Him and they will be taken away only because of Him.
You can only have eternal life if you believe in Him and are cleansed from your sins through Him.
That is pretty narrow and simple.
Belief in Jesus Chirst=Eternal Life
Our willingness to repent is what gives us Eternal Life, and Christ is the only way to recieve that.

Well I just cried Repentance haha but I can promise with all my heart that that is what brings true joy.
God wants us to be happy and His Son, Christ is how we get that true happiness.

I love you all and I hope you are setting good goals for the New Year.

AHH Its has just been crazy but Transfers went well and got another awesome companion
Sister Garate! Sounds like Karate but with a G
And the work here has been great.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas, I love it, thinking about Christ everyday.
Remembering his birth was the start of His amazing mission for us.
If you haven't already definitely check this amazing video out
christmas.mormon.org
I love it, Christ was the first gift our Father in Heaven has given us.
That's a lot of love from our Father to sacrifice his only Son.
I love Christmas and the spirit that is so strong here.

I thank all of you that sent me gift and cards, I absolutely love them! Thank you so much.
Merry Christmas!

Love,

Week 11 & Week 12

AHHH These last 2 weeks have been so crazy, I didn't even write on here as you saw.
Well on the 30th I talked in Sacrament meeting! It went great, Sister Beech, and I talked about the Hastening of the Work, and Gratitude that leads to action.
I just love the Lord's work, if brings so much joy and that is why I am grateful for it, of course I just want to do it more and more.

Well for this last week I am offically done with training!
And I am taking over the Volcano Cliff area!
I am so sad to see Sister Beech transferring but I am kind of excited to see who my new companion will be. I find out tomorrow morning.
So crazy right!?

On a spiritual note, my zone had an amazing training in Friday.
We talked about Sacrifice and how all are sacred.
Sacred things to you are usually in some way were a sacrifice.
It is easy to think of this on a mission because we sacrifice time and money.
We sacrifice ourselves to do this work, and that is why we hold this experience so sacred.

Another example I kept thinking about is our Savior.
He sacrificed everything! His Life, His Experience, just for each and everyone of us.
It was a Sacred Sacrifice, many hold dear.
"and that great and last sacrifice will be the Son of God, yea, infinite and eternal.
And thus he shall bring salvation to all those who shall believe on his name; this being the intent of this last sacrifice, to bring about the bowels of mercy, which overpowereth justice, and bringeth about means unto men that that may have faith unto repentance." Alma 34:14-15

I just love this, Jesus Christ did everything for us.
I know He did.
And I love this time of year to think about him and to Discover Him, Embrace Him, and then Share this with others.
I love the Lord and the peace He has given me in my life.
I hope you all take time to think of him.
Much Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 10

This last week was amazing. We had Elder Corbridge of the 1st Quorum of the Seventy visit us.
He wrote the 4th Missionary and the talk about Jospeh Smith in last Aprils Conference.
He talked with us about The Most Important Thing.
Why, How and What.
Why are we here on Earth? Why do we have the gospel? Why are there missionaries?
Why, is our Destination.
To be Forgiven for our Sins. To have the Holy Ghost, which brings Eternal Life to Man!
That is why we have all of this.
So How can we have Eternal Life?
That is the route or the principles of the gospels. Like Faith, and Repentance.
Baptism, and the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End.
That is How we receive Eternal Life is following these principles.
So now What do we have to do?
Apply! Do, and Act on these Principles. Grow, Learn and Experience, the blessings of the gospel.

If you wish to have eternal life,
Then you need to have Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repent, Be Baptized, Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Endure to the End.
So Will You?

I want you all to have eternal life and eternal happiness. Heavenly Father wants you to return to him.
That is why he gave us Jesus Christ and the Atonement.
Jesus Christ is our Gift from our Father in Heaven.
He is the Gift. And Don't Let It Go To Waste!
Use what he has given us. Use the Atonement.
I love you all and I am so grateful for the Atonement and the chance to repent and progess.
I am so grateful for Christ's sacrifice.
I hope you all come to know this beautiful gift we have been given.
I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Week 9

Hey Everyone!
This week just flew by and AHH time won't slow down.
Something that has really been on my mind lately is how precious time is.
For me serving my mission is extremely short and I need to use my time wisely. My mission is a privilege and I love it so much. I get to work side by side with my Savior, helping our brothers and sisters come closer to Him. I have been out 2 months and that only leaves 16 left.
This also reminds me of how short our life on earth is and how this is such an important time as well. This life is our time to grow, learn and experience. It is also our time to prove to our Father in Heaven that we will follow Him, this is our time to prove we can become like Him.
Well what are you waiting for!? Pray to Him for guidance, Read His word in scriptures.
Learn so you can know His will for you and Act in Faith, Do Good and Keep His Commandments.
He never said life would be easy, He only said it would be Worth it. So Live it.
There is so many blessings awaiting you, you just have to Ask for them.
Our Heavenly Father wants you to return to Him, and His Son, Jesus Christ made a sacrifice so you could. Partake in His Atonement, and become who you have the potential to be.

I love you so much.

Week 8

Hi! This week was so great!
Probably a little because of my birthday but because this fall is just so beautiful.
So my birthday on my mission, was the first time I just felt so loved.
I had ice cream and cake with members and I got some fun packages from home.
I could just feel how much Heavenly Father loves me and each one of us.
Well I would just like everyone to note that showing a little care for someone can make a huge difference. And that when you serve others it is also like serving our God, since he can't be physically on this earth, we can do that work for him.
Well I love you all and I am so grateful for all the birthday wishes you have all given me.
Take Care,
Love

Week 7

Hope everyones Halloweens were awesome and safe. I definitely got so much candy and I feel I may need to fast from sugar from now on.  So Trunk or Treat here in Albuquerque is a big deal and have the neighborhood comes, so lots of nonmember family enjoy safe trick or treating for their kids and free dinner as they do a big Chili Cook Off, needless to say I had a happy tummy after that. So yummy.

So this fall here is beautiful, almost as beautiful as the truthfulness of the message I share everyday.
Something I love about being on a mission is serving others, helping people as Christ would. And my only hope as I help is that they may know me by my fruits. Matthew 7.20
I hope they see the light of Christ and see that my service is to be an example to gain their trust so they may realize my purpose. The purpose to help and guide them to the truth of all things so they can have immortality and eternal life. I just hope and wish for everyone to have eternal happiness and I have the answer of how! So I hope that I will have the opportunity to share it with them. And for those that do know, share as well. Heavenly Father wants all His children to return to Him.

I love you all and I hope everyone is staying warm, feed missionaries if you ever run into them and ask to know the truth of all things,

Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 6

This has been an amazing week, more so than others. 6 weeks in means Transfers but Sister Beech and I are both staying in Volcano Cliffs! Horrayyy
Also this week our awesome friend Brian got baptized and confirmed.

There has been miracles this week and transfer. I know it is all because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Because He suffered for and felt all our mistakes, He knows how to cater to our needs. It is because of His Atonement that He is able to change peoples lives.
When I think of partaking the Atonement I am reminded that it is literally to become At One with the Savior. We talk and ask for help from Him, to become like Him and that is what saves us from our sorrows.
Jesus Christ takes away our pains and replaces them with His love, He then gives us strength to endure our shortcomings and better ourselves.

I know the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real, and that He did it because of His love for us. It has already been done, so don't let it go to waste, partake in His Atonement and use it to better yourself.
He will make you whole and happy.

I love you all, and don't try to do everything by yourself.
The Lord loves you and wants to help.

Have a good Halloween everyone.

Week 5

Hey Brothers and Sisters,
This week has been great, We did exchanges and Zone Conference.
I know the missionary lingo is making no sense to you but in summary, all us missioanries in the area gathered, got spiritually uplifted and helped each other out.
Well it was fun, learned a lot.
Something that is cool to think about is how we treat people.
If we treat someone like they are nothing, they will think and be nothing.
But if you treat them with respect and love, they will be respectable.
They will be as they are treated.
Also We are all nobodies and nobody is perfect.
Well I have to apoligize I have no photos but next week I promise there will be loads.

Much Love,
Sister Libbey

Week 4

I have been out a month! Crazy, time is flying and I am loving it.
It is starting to get really cold here and I did not prepare for it. I don't think I have ever been somewhere where it gets this cold and this isn't even the coldest it gets......
It also has been super windy, definitely almost got blown away on Sunday.

So I would just like to post a link to Elder Bednars talk because it just says everything. For all nonmembers this will answer your questions about us mormons. And also why I am out here today.
https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/10/come-and-see?lang=eng#watch=video

I would also just like to testify that I know there is a God, our Heavenly Father and that he gave us his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, just so we could return to him someday. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real and can heal any spiritual, or emotional wound we ever have. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ can change peoples lives and can make us the best we can ever be. We just have to seek to gain knowledge and follow the example that Jesus Christ set for us.
I know that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church restored on the earth today by the Prophet Joseph Smith, called of God. And that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I know that the priesthood power of God is restored and we have a living prophet today to guide us. So know that God loves all of you and doesn't want us going through life blind, there is more than this life and He gave us all of this to help us grow and become amazing people that can live with Him again.

I love and hope all of you seek to know the truth for yourself. You just have to look.

Much Love,
Sister Sage Libbey

Week 3

I am sorry I failed and got no photos of hot air balloons! But I saw like 2 in the distance...so I missed out too.

General Conference! Amazing as always. But I really enjoyed this one, there was a lot of love and concern shared I think.
My favorite talks were from:
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Dallin H. Oaks
Jorg Klebingat
Jeffrey R. Holland
James J. Hamula
M. Russel Ballard
Richard G. Scott
David A. Bednar

Pretty much all of conference right?
Amazing

I also hear there is a movie coming out? Meet the Mormons
Go see it for me, I know it is playing in Santa Rosa back home in Cali so all that can go see it and tell me how it is.

So this week was great, a lot of inspiration I have been listening to a talk about the Spirit World, where we go next after this life and wow. It is called What's on the Other Side by Brent L. Top.
Brothers and Sisters, This world is not home, we are here to learn grow and become the best we can because we will return to our real home with out Heavenly Father someday and it will be hard to make up for our mistakes later than it would now. Make the best of today and strive for your best.

I love you all!

Week 2

This week has been super spiritual.
I would call it a week of revelation and reasoning.
Why I am serving a mission and my purpose here on Earth.
Well as General Conference is on it's way this weekend,
we have already had the General Woman's Broadcast which was really awesome and inspiring.
I loved Neill F. Marriot when she said "To give light to others. You must first glow yourself."
And Uchtdorf's analogy of our Heavenly Father raining blessings on us, and when we sin or doubt in him, we put an umbrella up and don't receive the rain.

So I suggest everyone watch general conference, where better to get deep answers than from our living Prophet and Apostles today, direct messages from God.
https://www.lds.org/general-conference/watch?lang=eng
So go in with a question, and don't forget a journal to write your thoughts in.

Oh so there are lots of lightning storms here and I am not use to them, they kind of scare me a bit.
And I got to try fry bread so so so good, I wish I could have everyday.

Yesterday I got to go through the Albuquerque Temple, which is so beautiful especially inside.
Definitely my favorite right up next to the Oakland temple.

This weekend is the Balloon Fiesta and I am right next to it, so there will be loads of photos of hot air balloons next week.

Much much Love,
Sister Libbey

Although the desert may be dry brown and depressing, the skies make up for it. Just Look Up.

The MTC and Week 1 in Albuquerque

AHHHH! Where do I start?!
Well my MTC experience was amazing. Definitely a lot of fun with the spirit. It's like EFY but with real work to do. I had the best Zone ever, we became family and I was sad to leave them.
Something awesome is, the spirit is so strong that literally everything you learn just gets absorbed like a sponge. I gained so much knowledge and revelation its crazy.
Sad note I got my first flu shot :(
Okay so yea week 1 in the field has already come and gone. I traveled from Provo to Albuquerque with 12 elders, leaving my favorite sisters to go to New Jersey. So we arrive around noon and we just did so much, a temple photo, some paperwork and even some contacting. It was a long day and then Tuesday I met my trainer!
Sister Beech!! Seriously a divine match, the best "mom" I could ask for.
So I believe because of the crazy change in environment and the flu shot I got a nice virus, a sore throat, so Sis. Beech has been putting up with me coughing up flem, lovely right?
But I was determined to really learn and be trained and get working so I fought through the loss of voice and coughing. And now I am miraculously better, prayers are answered.

So I am here in West Albuquerque, in the Volcano Cliffs Ward and I most definitely believe I am meant to be here. I have met so many people I feel like I have known for ages. And miracles have been happening! Little ones but it is definitely the Lords work.
I honesty love this gospel and this work.
I feel I am so blessed. Especially for where I am today.

I wish everyone well and happy birthday to many of my friends, you know who you are.

Much Much Love,
Sister Libbey
